Will You Take a Moment to Email Your Local Candidate?

With the federal election just around the corner, we need to ensure that children, families, and educators in Western Sydney are on the policy agenda.

Will you take a moment to send a quick email to your local candidates, telling them that community-led childhood education is something you will be voting on this election?

Let’s call on all politicians, parties and candidates to:

  • Fund community-led not-for-profits as essential community infrastructure
Prioritise public investment towards community-led early education providers with demonstrated track records of delivering high-quality, accessible childcare, especially near public schools.
  • Immediately deliver worker retention funding
Urgently deliver the promised ECEC Worker Retention Payment to stabilise the workforce and allow not-for-profit services to fairly adjust fees beyond the 4.4% cap—reflecting the genuine cost of quality early education and care.
  • Pilot integrated family support and early intervention
Fund a dedicated pilot at Children First to deliver integrated educational and therapeutic services within childcare centres, specifically for children who do not qualify for the NDIS. Additionally, fund a family navigation program to help families access critical support services seamlessly.

This is the only way to ensure that children receive the high-quality care they deserve, that parents in Western Sydney have genuine choices about who educates and supports their children, and that educators are respected, fairly paid, and supported to stay in the sector long term.
