Seeds of growth

Established in 1948, we’ve been dedicated to serving the community for 70 years. We started as Blacktown Community Kindergarten, with a community-run childcare centre on Alpha Street, which we still have today. Since then, we’ve grown to six childcare centres in the Blacktown LGA. And we continue to proudly build solid ties in the community, providing a range of quality services to support families.

Reaching for the sky

While our name has undergone changes, our commitment to children, their families and the community has never changed. We’re continually looking for new ways to make a difference to families and children.

The recent growth of Growing Potential Ltd. as a larger, stronger organisation means we’re able expand into exciting, new areas to support the wider community. While we’re still deeply dedicated to helping children and their families to grow, we’re expanding to provide new services including:

  • Early childhood intervention services
  • Aboriginal community and health centres
  • Support for older Australians

We’re especially honoured to be working more deeply with Indigenous communities, through groups such as Windaan which has shown significant progress in community engagement in the mid-north coast and Western Sydney.

“They understand me and my family and our needs, they make me feel comfortable and safe as an Aboriginal person being supported by Aboriginal staff from my community.”

— Aunty Kim, speaking of Windaan
