Growing Potential Ltd (GPL) is a community based not-for-profit based in Western Sydney. GPL was established in 1948 in Blacktown as a provider of early childhood services. It has since diversified to include allied health and NDIS services as well as Aboriginal and health services. Services are currently provided across a number of regions in NSW. The Board has aspirations to continue to grow sustainably.
GPL is a Company limited by guarantee and enjoys DGR and PBI status. The Board is responsible for governance, strategic direction, and oversight of the activities of the Company consistent with usual statutory obligations.
The Board is seeking to make a number of appointments to ensure that it has the skills to address the future needs of the organisation as well as effective succession.
As a Non-Executive Director, you will be expected to:
- Be able to support and work to the Mission, Vision and Values of GPL;
- Adhere to the company’s code of conduct;
- Contribute to the strategic direction of GPL;
- Act within the legal and statutory requirements of Board members;
- Attend monthly board meetings and relevant committee meetings.
The Board is particularly interested in hearing from people with the following backgrounds:
- Allied Health/Health;
- Early Childhood;
- Disability Services
The Board strongly encourages Indigenous people to apply.
Directors are appointed at the next AGM for an initial term of 3 years and may then present for election for an additional term of three years. Directors can serve for up to 9 years. The position is voluntary but reasonable out-of-pocket expenses are reimbursed.
